1 · Using Planar
Planar is made by CodeStage (“we”). We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, through the App Store or Google Play and under their rules as well as these. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, or remove the “Scanned with Planar” mark by any means other than Planar Pro.
On iPhone, Apple's standard licence terms also apply where these are silent. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and have no obligation to support Planar.
2 · Your documents
Everything you scan, the text read from it, your signatures and your settings belong to you. They are stored only on your device, and we have no access to them. You are responsible for what you scan, for having the right to scan it, and for keeping your own backups: if your phone is lost or the app is removed, we cannot recover your documents.
3 · Your account
An account is optional. It exists to keep Planar Pro with you across devices and holds only your email, your sign-in method and your Pro plan. You must give an email you control and keep your sign-in to yourself. You can delete your account at any time in the app or by email; see Delete account.
4 · Planar Pro
Planar Pro unlocks unlimited documents without the watermark, password-protected PDFs, saved signatures and the ID card, book and receipt modes. It is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-off lifetime purchase.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google, in your local currency, at the price shown in the store when you buy.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not in the app.
- Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Prices can change; the store will tell you before a change applies to a renewal.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. See our refund policy.
5 · The free version
The free version keeps up to 20 documents and adds a small “Scanned with Planar” mark to exports. We may change what the free version includes, but we will not take documents you already have away from you.
6 · Acceptable use
Use Planar lawfully. Do not scan documents you have no right to copy, use the signature tool to forge anyone's signature, or use the app to infringe anyone's rights. Do not try to break the app, the account service or the purchase system.
7 · Accuracy and warranties
Edge detection, text recognition, key details, smart titles and redaction are automatic and can be wrong. Always check a scan, its text and a redacted copy before you rely on it or send it. A signed PDF from Planar is an image of a signature; whether it counts as a valid signature depends on the law and the parties involved, and Planar gives no assurance on that.
Planar is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, including that it will be error-free or meet your needs.
8 · Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost profits arising from your use of Planar, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Planar Pro in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for consumers in the EU and UK.
9 · Ending the agreement
You can stop using Planar at any time by removing the app and, if you have one, deleting your account. We can suspend or end your account if you break these terms. Your documents are on your phone either way and are unaffected by anything we do.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, the app will point you to the new version before it applies; the version and date at the top of this page change with it.
10 · Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION], without affecting the consumer protections of the country you live in. Disputes go to the courts of [YOUR JURISDICTION] unless the law gives you the right to your local courts.
